Day 246 – Reality is Crafted

It is not possible to understand reality. It is not possible because there is too much to observe. By our nature, humans discern, filter, and judge our surroundings to determine what should require our attention. We discriminate based on our compelling need to survive. Additionally, reality is complex. There may be a truth that prevails despite our observations and participation, but that matters little to our daily process. So we are left with what we interpret reality to be. This interpretation is based on a small percentage of inputs. Therefore, try as we might, we are not going to get reality correct. For the most part, we humans do our best to ascertain what it is that we are participating in and then fill in the blanks with mostly guesswork.

This leads me to only one real conclusion: our reality is completely crafted.

Since this is the case, we might as well build the reality that we want—focus on constructing and believing in a reality that works best for us. The new-age concept of “believe it and it will come true,” although markedly silly at times, is grounded in this idea. You can certainly manifest your reality, and the reason I can say that with certainty is because we do it all the time. We are very good at it. Crafting a reality so that we can cope, survive, and ultimately thrive is what our minds are designed to do. So, since that is the case, it is my opinion that we can actively craft the reality we want.

The problem is that most people do not even try. They do not act. They are acted upon. They allow others to craft reality for them, and then they complain and are miserable. They see only the negative because reality is being forced upon them. Their view of the world becomes limited and finite. They do not see other possibilities, other options. The walls close in on them, and they are left with despair. They feel restricted and forced to be in the situation they are in. Consequently, they live in whatever circumstance has been handed to them. They do not know that it is entirely possible to start viewing the world around them differently and to begin constructing a new reality.

This does not happen overnight, but as you interpret the inputs around you, your mind starts creating a scenario of positivity and direction. Reality effectively warps around your mindset. So yes, you can indeed create the reality that you want. It is nobody’s fault but your own for the reality that you perceive. Of course, you can claim that others have used their power to constrain you, which may be true. However, you have no control over other people anyway, so you might as well filter that out of your thinking, true or not.

Do you want a better situation? Do you imagine a future different from where you are heading? Then craft it. Build the reality you want—on purpose, with intention. This is the single most significant power of the human mind. Call it faith. Call it hope. Call it manifesting. Call it whatever you like. But understand this: no one else will do it for you. No one else can. You are in complete control of how you perceive, interpret, and shape the world around you. The reality you live tomorrow begins with the reality you choose to see today.
