It takes about 12 – 14hrs of productive work 5-6 days a week to achieve a critical mass of accomplishment that brings success in any endeavor. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to me to be true. Most “sucessful” people I know are very industrious!
So, I’ve been working to dial up the quantity of time I spend working toward my goals. I want to get into a hyper-productive mode. So, how to get into this mode?
Having a sense of being on an adventure helps. How much effort would you put in if you were climbing mount Everest? What about a safari or a kayak trip in Alaska? Imagine the effort you would commit to such adventures and apply it to your life goals now.
Moving toward a goal worth the effort helps too. I’ve written about this before, but it is worth repeating. Imagine a future state you really want, picture it as clearly as possible. Hold that thought like an obsession.
Get a little bit jealous for your time, a little militant; say no to things that will take away your time or chances to make progress. Don’t stay up too late, don’t sleep in. Don’t skip excercise and proper diet.
There is a saying “Live 5 years like nobody else and you will live the rest of your life like nobody else.”
As you might have guessed, I’m trying to motivate myself here to pour on the effort each day for 12-14hrs toward my goals. They (significant goals) will just not happen otherwise, because I think the world is already moving a certain pace, there are already plenty of have to’s that constrain us and limit available time and energy; so,unless we work at a volume and pace that exceeds these givens we will not see significant change or movement toward goals.
Today, I managed to achieve an important milestone. Now keeping the momentum up is crucial.
Consistent 12-14 hour days of effort, a king of hyper productivity generates a momentum and multiplicities happen as we crest past the pace of the current we live in.
It’s sort of like a boat being carried by the current, at the speed of the current is hard to steer, impossible really. But if the boat moves faster then it becomes controllable and gains traction in the water and can navigate to a new place no longer trapped in the current.
So, figure out what it takes to accelerate your boat, and create habits that afford tou the opportunity to work 12-14 hrs a day toward your goal.
