Expectations are Fragile

Here is the thing about expectations. You actually achieve them doing the exact opposite of what you feel like you should do. The way to think about this is that they are very fragile. If you grip onto them too tightly, and mess around with them too much they will break. Expectations, rather, should be put up high out of reach, in a glass case and admired from afar. You should not play with them, toss them around, grip on to them or move them all the time. If you do that, you will break them.

So hands off! Do not focus on your expectations all the time. Focus instead on what you are doing today. Actions you are taking based on a plan. If you spend all your time shaking your fragile expectations around in your head, then they will come out all broken into little pieces.
