Day 3 – Don’t Pull Anchor

So yesterday the kids and I went out to the Glorieitta Bay and set anchor. We them swam, floated, hung out on the beach and did some kayaking. I was on a kayak and was doing a little bass fishing next to the Coronado Bridge when I looked up and saw my boat drifting into another vessel.

What had happened is that the anchor did not set correctly and was dragging along the bottom. The tide was going out which created a pull that dislodged the anchor. The adults in the other boat mistakenly told my kids to pull the anchor, which they did. This made the situation worse because now the boat was completely adrift.

As I scrambled to get onto the boat and get everything under control, I had one piece of advice for my children:

NEVER PULL ANCHOR.

Symbol for life. If you build a foundation, a firm faith in God and then when life gets tough, theast thing you should do is to pull the anchor. Stay rooted in faith, especially when times are rough.
